It has been a while since we posted last time. This was not because we are not working on Aqua Globs anymore, actually quite the opposite. We are just finishing the new Space level which you can see on the picture below. As usually all our players will get this level for FREE!

We are also updating the in-game OpenFeint to the latest 2.4 version which looks amazing. The whole interface was simplified and provides also new functionality for the players. To find out more about the 2.4 version of OpenFeint go to the official website at www.openfeint.com.

As we are getting closer and closer to the release of the huge update we are bringing more information about the new levels and globs. You already seen the second level with the special Pearl glob in our previous posts. This time we will show you third level and it’s special globs called Pearl glob.

As you can see on the screenshot this level is quite empty at first sight. Wait a moment tho, because it won’t be so easy at it looks like! Because the Pearl globs if not friendly this time. In fact he is very mean and will take your points away if you touch him with any other globs! What a grumpy mean glob. Fortunately you can get rid of him. Just send him to the yellow coral in the bottom right corner and you will never see him again. Watch out tho! His friends will be coming to the screen time to time and you will need to send them to the yellow coral as well.

To make this level a bit easier we added also friendly glob here. It’s a crab glob and you can see him on the screenshot below. He will pop out off the rocks time to time and if you’re fast enough to tap him you will be rewarded by +5 points!

This may be the reason why the crab glob is our most popular glob in-between our fans, and on of the biggest fans, Zaz, decided to make a comics about him.

It has been long time since our last post, but there is a good reason behind that. We have been very busy building the new update for the game and I’m happy to tell you that it’s just days from finishing!

So what’s coming in the next update? As you already know there will be some new levels and globs. That’s just the beginning

We have implemented the latest OpenFeint 2.2 into our game with a custom Aqua Globs skin and loads of achievements for you to unlock! For those who don’t know what OpenFeint is head over to this site http://www.openfeint.com/players. In general it’s something like Xbox Live, a system which connects you with other people playing Aqua Globs and allows you to see your standings in the High-score tables, how good you’re in unlocking achievements, chat about the game with other players and even become friends with them. It has Facebook and Twitter connectivity as well so you can let your friends know how good you’re!

The other thing we changed is the pause screen. When you paused he the screen was covered with a splash image showing you time and maximum points achieved so far with the option to continue or exit to menu. The huge disadvantage of this screen was that you were not able to see what is happening under and after pausing the game for few hours you would be basically blinded by the screen completely!

We solved this problem by introducing nice small dashboard which will slide into the screen from the bottom when you pause the game, so you can still see what is going on! There are other options on the dashboard as well. On the image you can se (from left to right) exit game button, help button, wave effect enable/disable button, OpenFeint button and finally game continue button.

The last change I want to talk about today is a new level selection screen. You saw the older version in the previous post. We decided to make it in a Apple cover flow style, so you will know how to use it intuitively. Just swipe on the screen to scroll through the level list and tap on a level if you want to play it! Easy, right?

Yes! After a long wait we are revealing the mysterious purple glob identity. You may have seen his first stage in the previous post. That’s nothing compared to what you’re about to see now!

The new glob is actually older brother or more advanced version, is you like, of the well known green glob (which are calling him cleaner ). The difference between them is that when connected it will reproduce into TWO big purple globs which can be connected to anything (the same like with green glob). This should make the game easier as the rocks in the level makes it a bit harder

The other thing we want to share with you today is a level selection screen. As we will have more levels in Aqua Globs now, we for sure need a way to select which one you want to play! Hopefully the screen we designed will be easy to use. We made it in a way that it’s easy to extend when we add a new levels in the future updates. You’ll be able to swipe the area where the level thumbnails are to see more levels. The same way as you use cover flow in your iPod. Easy!

Hi everybody!

Just wanted to keep you updated what’s happening ‘behind the scenes’ of the Aqua Globs game. We had some great responses from around the world and looks like we already have small fan base. Thanks for that a lot!

So what’s going on? As some of you already know we are building new level for the 1.2 update! You can see work in progress screen shot below:

The main change in this level is that the globs are not coming from bottom (because of the rock ). This makes the game easier, but (!) that would be too simple for you. So we are adding also some rocks in the space which will make the globs bounce off. To make it even more exciting there is a small cave in the level and globs can go through!

Other news for this level is that we won’t see our green friend in there But don’t worry! He will be replaced with our brand new glob, which will have different special characteristic. You can see him on a picture below:

We won’t tell you what his function will be yet! But you can try and guess!

First of all I would like to thank everybody that bought our game so far and for your comments and support! It’s greatly appreciated!

We have submitted update 1.1 few days ago. So what is in this update? Mostly fixes. Sounds quite boring but to fix bugs is of the same importance as build new thing into the game. We decided to fix the small glitches that sneaked into the first version of the game now, so with the next updates we can focus on adding new exciting stuff to the game!The full list of the 1.1 update is:

• Fixed unresponsiveness (or so called ‘don’t touch me’ bug – thanks Zaz ) of the globs happening after loosing life.
• Fixed choppy performance when the in-game music is enabled.
• Fixed speed-up bug happening after the device locks itself.
• Fixed typo in tutorial.
• Improved performance of the game so now it runs smoother at full 60fps.

Hope this fixes will improve your gaming experience!

To shorten the wait for the update we decided to show you more from the new graphics, background this time!

As promised on TouchArcade forum (link), we are bringing new images of the updated graphics for Aqua Globs. We decided to push the graphics a bit more and give it a stronger professional feel, while still keeping it funky and colorful.

You can see the new look of our lovely globs on the left in the image below. What do you think?

In this blog we will be writing interesting stuff about the game like what will be in the next update or how have we done various parts of the game. There will also be place for you, our players, to tell us what you thing about the game or help us to decide what to bring in the next update.

So our first version is out! You can see the look of v1.0 on the screen-shot below. Memorize that one because you won’t see it for much longer. We will upgrade the graphics in v1.1! We will post some screens later on, when the new graphics are finished.
